Chevron Love

Oh man! i am terrible, haven't posted in a while. But here is my newest little project. Ive been kinda jealous lately of all these folks with the Chanel rip off chain strap purses, so i finally got my ass to the Hardware store and bought some chain of my own, and proceeded to (slowly) weave leather in and out and in and out. I was a little scared to start this bag cause the leather is really nice and it was not cheap and sometimes i get afraid that i will mess things up in that stage right after the "idea" and right before the "completion" But it turned out alright. Hooray!

Bleeeeehhhh

Haven't posted for a while. Mostly because i have been in a bit of a *mood* , however sometimes moods work to your advantage and force you to make new bags for yourself. I already hate my other leather bag that i made a few months ago because i am fickle and i wanted one with a flap. So i gathered every scrap, and i mean scrap of leather that i had left and put together a pretty sweet looking bag.....this is not that bag, once i started sewing the previously mentioned bag i realized my ingenious weaving of leather was far too "ingenious" to actually be sewn, it fell apart and i got frustrated.....so instead of weaving them i settled on sewing all the strips together and doing a sort of quilting thang. It's not what i set out to do, but things i finish are rarely things i start, and most of the time they turn out better than i planned. (wow that's deep....)

Birdies!!

Here is a bag that i made as a birthday gift a couple weeks ago, and forgot to post.

Just For Kicks....

I haven't done much sewing lately, so i haven't had a lot to post.
In the meantime, since this is my blog and i can post whatever i want, here are some photos of a different kind of creative endeavor. Sometimes, people ask me to do their hair for weddings, and most of the time....that stresses me out, but also it usually turns out looking snazzy (of course it helps that both of these ladies are pretty snazzy looking without any of my help). Also, it typically ends up being really enjoyable because i get to be involved in the pre-wedding-ness that i wouldn't normally be a part of.

So here is the lovely Laura:

..."Pulling an Anna"

Definition:
Frantically creating an item for the night out in 2 hours or less; Typically brought on by the inability to recognize anything but the idea fabricated on the drive home from work as a wearable option for the evening. Also known as: the only way anna ever accomplishes anything.

Last week i REALLY wanted to wear tights.....and all my dresses are dumb, so this had to happen. It's a little wonky, but that's ok, i still like it.

AMINALS!

So, last night was accidentally, wildly productive. Got some more photos for my silly new food blog project, which is turning out to be really fun for me, despite the fact that taking photos of every step while cooking TOTALLY messes with my "flow" and it's annoying. There is a link... over there ----> if you wanna check it. But then on top of the making of the food, i also got some printing and sewing done. I printed a few things with my new elk screen, and Jonathan printed his new "solo project" logo on a bunch of stuff, so i whipped up a record bag for him as well! The color in the elk photos is kinda off i forgot to get some with a flash, but we mixed up some dark brown ink to go on the grey bags, and i am really kinda into it!

I Screen, You Screen, We All Screen For Elk Screen!

....What?.....I Dunno.

ANYWAY. Here is the newest addition to my silk screen arsenal. Mostly, i just really liked the idea of antlers cause i think they look radical, but i figured they should be attached to something......partly because it seems less morbid, but more because i prefer having the animal there for compositional purposes. And also for sentimental reasons.... 'cause growing up, my poor mother had to incorporate elk into way too many culinary endeavors to try to deplete the supply in our freezer. Your brother gets drawn for elk ONCE and you spend your entire young life never getting to eat italian sausage the way God intended. AH Arizona.

FINALLY!

It has been a LONG time coming, but i finally have a power lines bag done! I drew this one about 9 months ago, but hit several roadblocks with the actual production of the screen.
When i actually got the proper finished screen for my birthday from the delightful Jonathan Hylander I did one print, and then my lazy gene kicked in and it sat for a while without being sewn into a bag. But then in true Anna fashion, i was finally forced to finish it last night because i was going out and my purse smelled so strongly of Joshua Tree campfire that i probably would have lead people surrounding me to believe that THEY were actually on fire. So for the sake of the peace of mind of my fellow Edendale patrons....i give you:
